About MyRobotech
MyRobotech is on a mission to democratise access to Science & Technology for youth, particularly through robotics, to support Malaysia's pursuit of becoming a developed nation. Our goal is to dismantle the barriers created by the traditional segregation of science and non-science streams in Malaysian high schools. This segregation often labelled smarter students as suitable for science streams while categorising others as less capable, fostering a mindset among many youths that they are not deserving of involvement in science & technology. However, everyone is inherently connected to science & technology in their daily lives, such as using smartphones.
The establishment of MyRobotech was inspired by a significant realisation during my volunteer work at a prominent international robotics competition. I noticed that Malaysian students were not sufficiently empowered in the STEM sectors. Coupled with the decline in STEM students in Malaysia, this observation motivated me to establish MyRobotech, an association run by youth, for youth.
To bring this vision to life, I reached out to a group of enthusiastic colleagues who shared my passion. Together, we formed a dynamic committee comprising Malaysian youths from Malaysia, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Our collective effort aims to break down barriers and make STEM accessible to all Malaysian youth.
On December 20th, 2022, MyRobotech received official approval from the Registrar of Societies Malaysia, marking the beginning of our exciting journey.
MyRobotech is committed to democratising access to STEM fields among Malaysian youth, dispelling the notion that STEM is an exclusive domain reserved only for the brightest minds. We believe that every young person, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to explore and thrive in the world of science & technology.
